Megan is thrilled to join Cal Poly Humboldt as the Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation (NAGPRA) Program Coordinator. Megan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and earned her B.A. in Anthropology at San Francisco State University (SFSU). During her time there, she worked as a research assistant for the SFSU NAGPRA Program. Upon graduating from SFSU, she completed 33 units of coursework in the Applied Anthropology Master’s Program at San Jose State University (SJSU). Megan has spent the last twelve years working as an archaeologist in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) here in California. During her time in CRM she served as Field Director, Lab Director, and Project Manager. She gained experience producing technical reports and compliance documents in support of state and federal laws, such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). She also had the honor of consulting and collaborating with Tribal representatives and Most Likely Descendants (MLDs) throughout Northern California. Megan is honored to share her passion for repatriation with the Cal Poly Humboldt community and is dedicated to building strong partnerships with Tribes and Native American communities through meaningful consultation.
